Fateful Embassy Approach

Fateful Embassy Approach

Cost: 6m, 1wp; Mins: Integrity 5, Essence 5; Type: Simple (Dramatic Action)
Keywords: Prayer Strip
Duration: Indefinite
Prerequisite Charms: Creation-Preserving Will, Surety of the Destined Self

Though it is taxing for them to do so, the pattern spiders can extend the reality shaping powers of the loom even into other realms of existence, exerting their authority over the forces that drive causality in those places beyond Creation. Over the course of a full day of prayer and planning very much like that which goes in to crafting a destiny, the Sidereal arranges for them to do so on his behalf. At the end of this period, he scribes a prayer strip with the Sutra of the Maiden Beyond The Walls, dawns a Resplendent Destiny, and places the prayer strip over his heart, where it adheres and integrates itself into the Destiny’s trappings. The Sidereal immediately gains three points of Paradox, and the chosen Destiny loses a point of Endurance.

While he maintains his commitment to this charm, when he wears the selected Resplendent Destiny the Sidereal is always considered to be within Creation and inside of Fate for all purposes, no matter what fate-forsaken realm he ventures into. Furthermore, he becomes extraordinarily resistant to the shaping magics employed by the denizens of such realms – this charm perfectly negates all shaping effects targeting the Sidereal which originate from creatures or phenomena outside of fate (with this qualification being considered a special flaw of invulnerability), including those which would shape his immediate environment.

Design Commentary

The original charm here was written before one of the posters below kindly pointed out that Creation-Preserving Will had been completely re-written in errata. In light of that, it didn’t make a lick of sense. I still wanted to provide a long term shaping defense option though, so I completely re-wrote this charm as well.
