A Sidereal’s duties often call upon him to be in more than one place at the same time. Sadly, this is impossible, but with the proper magic he may indeed be at the same place more than once. By activating this charm, the vizier evokes the presence of a resplendent destiny that he carries but is not currently wearing, creating an illusion that the individual that destiny represents is present in the scene.

The illusory presence’s actions never have a material impact on the outcome of events in a scene. In a battle scene, it will be remembered to have fought, but never actually attacks or is attacked. In a social scene, it will have been present but not have contributed to the conversation in a meaningful way. The illusion is such that this outcome never seems remarkable to those present.

This illusion operates by projecting the chosen destiny into the world as an unnatural illusion effect. Entities who do not perceive resplendent destinies – other Sidereals and beings outside of fate – don’t perceive the illusory character in the scene at all. Other characters may also see through the illusion if given cause, using the same traits, rolls, and modifiers used to see through a resplendent destiny’s disguise if the vizier were actually wearing it. If they do, the fact that they are viewing an illusion becomes Obvious to them.

The vizier may narrate actions for the illusion within the constraints described above, and actions he specifies for it generate paradox exactly as if he were wearing the destiny and taking those actions himself.

Design Commentary

This is designed to help a Sidereal resolve issues arising from his interacting with the same group of characters under multiple guises. It doesn’t allow him to talk to himself, or take multiple actions, it simply insinuates his presence into the scene more than once, by way of his destinies, so as to reduce the incidence of characters realizing they never see the two characters at the same time.
