The Lawgivers care for their subjects, but the eyes of the ruler must see beyond such things, when needed. This Charm alters the Lawgiver’s Compassion and Conviction, and may only be purchased if both are rated 3+ and the Lawgiver has a Motivation centered around helping others. This Charm modifies the way the Lawgiver must act around her subjects (defined as people she has a Motivation to aid, or a positive Intimacy enhanced with Righteous Lion Defense towards). An action is considered to aid the Lawgiver’s subjects if it increases their general well-being or forwards the Lawgiver’s Motivation or Righteous Lion Defense regarding them, provided that it does not contradict either her Motivation or any Righteous Lion Defenses toward her subjects.

Hereafter, the Lawgiver need not suppress Compassion or Conviction to perform actions necessary to aid her subjects. However, she must now suppress both Compassion and Conviction to perform acts that would harm her subjects, or to choose not to aid her subjects when an opportunity presents itself (this second clause is subordinate to the first; if she must leave her servants languishing in the hands of her enemies to save her kingdom, she may regret the necessity, but will not be swayed against the greater good).

Additionally, whenever the Solar rolls either her Compassion or Conviction, she converts those dice into automatic successes. Each time that she would regain Willpower from resting, she may also regain a single channel of either Compassion or Conviction.

Finally, she may treat any mental influences forcing her to contradict an Intimacy or Motivation for her subjects as unacceptable orders.
