Unmooring body, mind, and spirit from the reality they know, the character transports themselves to Elsewhere, vanishing entirely from the world.

While in Elsewhere time passes but all physical function ceases – the character does not age, required food, water, or air, can sense nothing and can take no actions except those which are purely mental in nature. Even reflexive actions are impossible if they involve any physical components whatsoever.

If the character knows the charm The Spirit of the Living World (The Broken-Winged Crane, pp. 48) or a similar ability which creates a world or space within their own being, physical activity remains possible within that space – its dimensionality is governed by its own magic, and remains independent of the character’s own external circumstances.

When the character releases their commitment to this charm, they return to existence, typically in the same location from which they departed (though the conditions at that location may have changed dramatically, and the storyteller is encouraged to take some liberties with this, particularly for characters who spend extended periods in Elsewhere).
